When I saw this pic of Joan Smalls on Instagram I knew that blue eyeliner was a look I had to try for myself – its so simple, fun and such an easy update to a normal look.
Easy update to your look
I’m a big fan of new make-up that is easy to apply and doesn’t require half a dozen new products. I’ll admit I’m still mastering doing my eye make-up and I tend to do the same thing most of the time. I’m starting to spend more time on my eyes, I’m building a decent collection of different products and I’m enjoying finding new looks I like. Mastering application is a little tricky, but I’m getting there!
Blue eyeliner has graced the catwalks this Summer, has been featured on a host of celebrities including Kim Kardashian and the thing I love about this blue eyed look is that you start off exactly the same as you would with your base and the only new product to add would be a blue eye eyeliner or eye shadow, et voila.
According to beautycrew.com blue eyeliner along the lower lash line works in the same way as a nude eyeliner to help your eyes pop and appear wide awake – I’ll take any make-up that does that!
Joan Smalls eyeliner features cobalt blue eyeliner to the lower lash line and here’s a pastel version of the same on Cara Delevingne which looks amazing on fairer skin:
Alternatively, if you have a blue eye shadow you can use this instead of an eyeliner and use a small brush to apply this to the lower lash line. This look on Olivia Munn is one of my favourites which uses a darker tint of blue tastefully done on Olivia for a mature look:
